Super shiny metallics is a trend that always remains from season to season and is definitely one of our fashion favourites – especially with Christmas approaching! Whether it’s clothing, glistening gold tattoos, styling details or fabrics… we LOVE this trend and we know you do too!
Our metallic collection has been hugely inspired by our love for Ibiza and its legendary party scene, glamorous beach bars and beautiful sunsets.
Day or night, we know a high shine metallic piece will add instant Balearic glam to any outfit this festive season. Whether it’s our metallic iridescent or our super shiny gold, our sandals are the perfect alternative to crippling high heels this Christmas and New Years Eve!
Every single pair of our Solillas are handmade by our friend Carlos and his team in the small Menorcan town of Ferreries. They’re made by people we know and trust with quality, pride and passion.
Each pair is very special to us and we love hearing about your Solillas journey and where they end up travelling to. Keep sharing your #SolSelfies so we can continue to grow our Solillas Tribe.
Here a few of our favs…
The sportswear look has been around for the last couple of years but this year it has really escalated from it being acceptable to parade in your gym gear pre-workout, to being a huge trend for those of us who have never even set a foot in the gym. Take adidas Originals for example, they’ve teamed up with both Rita Ora and Topshop separately to produce capsule collections for this sea son once again – and are taking up a lot of room in the high street.
A large part of the sportswear trend is mesh. Often seen layered up in bright colours during the day but taking a different edge for the evening or for a smart city break where it can be worked in black with nothing else underneath, giving a modest peek-a-boo effect.
Mesh was picked up on by the fashion press as a key catwalk trend from both London and New York Fashion Weeks last year, and was seen at the SS15 shows of Alexander Wang, Philip Lim, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Versace, Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana…the list could go on.
Solillas had already predicted it as a key trend long before the catwalk shows and we started work on our own mesh design well over a year ago, Urbana, which now forms part of the new styles introduced for SS15.
Mesh pieces are easy to wear and walk the line between sporty and sexy – giving you a sense of edge. We suggest pairing with something more refined such as a pair of skinnies or tailored dungarees and blazer – for a very wearable hint of sports luxe.
This week saw the seventh London Collections Men take place over four days at various locations across the city, showcasing the best Britain has to offer in menswear. Between the catwalk shows, presentations, showrooms, extravagant parties and the streetwear seen around each venue, it was something for Britain and the fashion world to be truly proud of and something we were constantly inspired by.
London Collections Men is produced by the British Fashion Council and is the menswear alternative to London Fashion Week, although feels more raw and edgy. To quote the British Fashion Council “London Collections Men emphasises both the creative and commercial importance of British brands and emerging talent as well as the rich cultural landscape that contributes to the inspiration and success of this sector.” With shows ranging from the most innovative up-and-coming young designers, to the global powerhouse brands, from the most eccentric and out-there outfits to more wearable pieces, it wasn’t to be missed.
With London being at the forefront of the fashion world, always pushing forward and offering young fashion creatives first class education and funding opportunities, it’s no wonder New York has decided to take our lead and will be running their own dedicated men’s fashion week next month.
Click here to see our own men’s collection which combines rugged distressed leather and a recycled tyre sole for a rustic twist on the classic Baleraic style. With two existing designs, a new design for SS15 dropping next week and an exclusive design for Office shoes available in-store and online, our men’s collection is growing and our SS16 update is already being worked on between our London designers and traditional factory in Menorca.
Here is a roundabout of some of our favourite LCM SS16 looks, showcasing how men’s sandals can be styled up or down:

From Azaleia Banks to the Allah-Las, Drake and Chet Faker, all the best vibes kept flowing in Coachella. And, of course, the festival was again the stage for the coolest artists and bohemian looks.
It was incredibly hard to pick our favourite looks but here is a round up of some of the best from weekend two:
This weekend, prints definitely caught our attention! Diane Kruger paired some leopard print with delicate gladiator sandals and Mischa Barton mixed leather with a fun black and white geometric print.
Also mixing in town: prints and white platforms.
Be more excited our own Blanco Flatforms which have just launched for this summer.
Outstanding fashion and comfort inspire us. Coachella 2015 may be over, but the attitude carries on.
